Our terms and conditions comply with UK legislation and are designed to ensure that our customers can shop easily and with confidence with thebighorseshop.co.uk. We will endeavour to provide uninterrupted, error free access to the website, however this can not be guaranteed due to the nature of the Internet. Occasionally your access may be suspended or restricted to allow updates, upgrades or repairs, we will try to ensure that this is for the shortest time possible.
These terms and conditions are governed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Our Contract (Order)
The information we require from you when placing the order is for billing and delivery purposes. When an order is placed to purchase goods from The Big Horse Shop, an email will be sent confirming receipt of the order and the order details. A contract between you and The Big Horse Shop will only take place once the order has been accepted, processed and items despatched, at which point your credit/debit card will be charged.
All products are offered in £ sterling and inclusive of VAT at the prevailing rate where applicable. Any exceptions will be clearly marked on the website where relevant. On very rare occasions due to human error products may appear mispriced, as part of our order confirmation email, prices are verified. If the correct price is lower than advertised we will charge the lower price and send you the product. If the correct price is higher, we will either contact you to advise and request instructions before despatch or cancel the order notifying you accordingly. .
Whilst this website is designed with UK customers in mind, we welcome enquiries from customers in other countries. Prices include UK Sales Tax (VAT), currently at 20%, which may not be payable by international customers; however, additional delivery charges will apply. Please telephone and we will do our best to assist. Any customs or import duties due when your package reaches its destination country will be your responsibility. We have no knowledge of other countries customs policies as they vary from country to country. Contact your local customs officer for full details and regulations
- Credit or Debit card, we accept any major credit card (except Diners card and American Express) or debit card via our website or by telephone. Cards are not debited until goods are despatched.
- Cheque, please allow 10 working days for your payment to clear. Cheques should be made payable to The Big Horse Shop Ltd. do not send money (notes) in the post. If you choose to pay by credit/debit card
Occassionally Items shown on this website may be out of stock. If this is the case you will be informed either by email or telephone. You will be advised when the product will next be in stock. Please note that an indication of such dates is an estimate only and may be subject to change without notice, this does not constitute a contractual obligation by The Big Horse Shop Limited to supply goods by a certain date. However, if availability is unduly delayed we will do our very best to keep you informed.

Accepting orders and security
When you place an order, either by telephone or in writing, we will treat it as an offer to buy. If we accept your order, we will send you a confirmation e-mail with your order number, at which point we make a legal contract with you. However, we will be entitled to refuse to accept your order if we feel it necessary, in which case we will e-mail you as soon as we can to let you know.
When you receive your e-mail confirmation, you will have an opportunity to check the details and correct any errors.
In deciding whether to accept your order we may use the information you have given to us, or we already hold about you, or which we receive from any enquiry we may make with various agencies, to confirm your identity. This protect both of us from fraudulent transactions. If we decline your offer on security grounds we may contact you to seek an alternative payment method.
This is a signatory service, a signature is required at the time of delivery, the goods will not be left if a signature cannot be obtained. You can either have your goods delivered to your home address or you can enter an alternative delivery address, then you know someone will be there to sign for the goods. If you are not in when delivery is attempted a card will be left, if this happens please contact the courier company to arrange re-delivery. If the goods have to be returned to our warehouse because delivery was not possible the courier company will charge £15.00, unfortunately this charge will have to be passed on to you.

We aim to despatch goods from our warehouse within 48 working hours.
Occasionally at busy times this may take a little longer. You will be notified by email if it is anticipated that delivery will take longer than our stated time. In exceptional circumstances, please allow 60 days for delivery. We can advise on your delivery if you telephone 01254 279666 for details.
We are pleased to work in partnership with Barcode so when ever possible your goods will be sent this way. Please note that a signature will be required for every delivery. Should you be out at the time of delivery a card should be left for you to advise that an attempted delivery was made and for you to contact the appropriate depot to re-arrange. If the goods have to be returned to our warehouse because delivery was not possible the courier company will charge £15.00, unfortunately this charge will have to be passed on to you.
All deliveries must be signed for and you should keep your receipt. If goods are showing obvious signs of damage in transit upon receipt, please refuse to accept the delivery.
If you return an item to us within 14 days in perfect clean condition (e. g., if you have opened the box to examine the product you must have done so without damaging or marking the product in any way, no evidence of hairs, mud etc), in its original packaging, we will be happy to exchange or refund the original purchase price, unfortunately delivery costs cannot be refunded. Please use a sheet when try rugs on your horse. Exchanges are subject to additional shipping cost.
Returns received after the 14 day refund period will be issued with a credit note.
Returns of sale items - items on sale are non refundable, they maybe returned and either exchanged for another size/product or a credit note will be issued to be used in the future.
Returns due to faulty goods - Any item being return due to defective materials or poor workmanship (in your opinion) should be returned for inspection within 14 days. Before returning the item must be cleaned first, returns will not be accepted if they are dirty or have hairs on them. You will be responsible for the cost of cleaning.
Returns of goods sold as slight seconds - Any item bought as a slight seconds are not eligible for a refund, exchanges are accepted, these goods are sold as imperfect goods with faults.
Before personalising an item please make sure it fits and check for any faults, once the item has been personalised it is non-returnable.
You must make your own arrangements to return goods to us, you will be responsible for the cost of return. We recommend that you obtain proof of postage as you are responsible for the goods until they arrive at our warehouse.
Exchanges are subject to additional shipping cost.

Right to Cancel
Under distance selling rules you have a right to cancel your order up to 14 days after placing it. You must send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org informing us you are CANCELLING your order. The products need to be returned to our Returns Department (Address above under Returns) at your cost unworn/unused in their original packaging with all tags and labels within 14 days of your cancellation email. Products that have been personlised in any way can not be cancelled.
All goods are examined in detail by ourselves prior to despatch to ensure that they leave our warehouse in perfect condition. However, transit damage unfortunately can occur. If your purchase is showing obvious signs of transit damage upon delivery, please refuse to accept delivery and notify us immediately. If damage is only evident upon opening of packaging, then you must inform us within 24 hours of receipt. In either case, once returned back to our warehouse, we will then arrange re-delivery of replacement goods as soon as possible.
The Big Horse Shop guarantees all of it's products (with the exception of the Over Reach Boots and goods sold with faults indicated/slight seconds) to be free of defects in materials and workmanshop for 12 months from the date of purchase, providing you have the receipt and they are used in accordance with the purpose of manufacture. This, however, is not a guarantee against normal wear and tear or improper sizing/fitting. Nor does it apply to product that has been damaged by misuse, accident, neglect, modification or unauthorized repair. Should the items be damaged in anyway due to misuse, field, stable or horse damage the guarantee will be null and void. If we feel it is necessary goods will be returned to the factory for examination. All goods returned must be in clean condition free from dirt and mud.
If you believe you have purchased a defective product, do not continue to use it. Please return it with proof of purchase.
This warranty provides benefits over and above your statutory rights as a consumer.
In the case of the Over Reach Boot, the life expectancy depends on the impact caused by over-reaching, the boot is used to protect the horse from injury, it is not indestructible and so is not guaranteed against breakage, due to the horse over-reaching.
In the case of goods sold with faults/slight seconds we have indicated that there is a fault with this item and reduced the selling price accordingly. When purchasing these products you are doing so with the full knowledge that the workmanship/materials is faulty, therfore it is not gauranteed.
Sales on this web site are governed by English law and you agree to submit any dispute to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. All orders are subject to these terms and conditions and no amendments will be accepted by us. These terms and conditions do not affect your legal rights. We are required by law to tell you that sales can be concluded in English only and that we do not file copies of customer contracts.
